Amaama to Inazuma Anime Review – “Amaama to Inazuma” or you can also call it “Sweetness and Lightening” Anime series ended today. While it goes without saying that, this Anime series was one of the most cutest Anime series of this season that i have ever seen and its the type of Anime that you can watch it with your family! Even though it was just 12 episodes Anime series, it was fun and delightful to watch!
Kouhei Inuzuka is a teacher who has been caring for his little daughter on his own since his wife’s death. He’s no good at cooking, so he and his daughter Tsumugi have been eating packaged meals from the convenience store. A series of events lead him one evening to a restaurant run by the mother of one of his students, Kotori. Her mother isn’t there, but Kotori does her best to feed them both. It turns out Kotori is often alone since her parents are divorced and her mother is frequently not around. The three of them begin to meet and cook tasty food together.

Amaama to Inazuma Anime Review
The story of this Anime is not so special and in fact the synopsis given above is the complete story of the Anime and that story runs over and over every 12 episodes. While this sounds a little boring, but its not. Because this Anime shows a father’s struggle or you can say a journey of raising his daughter alone.
Kouhei Inazuka is a teacher who has been taking care of his daughter Tsumugi since he lost his wife. Since he can’t cook well he and his daughter has been eating packaged food from convenience store every day and every night. He thinks that this is no good and he wants his daughter to have something tasty and healthy. One evening they decide to go to a eatery and that eatery was run by his student Kotori’s mother.
Unfortunately Kotori’s mother was not available at that time, but Kotori does her best to feed them, Kotori invites them to cook dinner/lunch and eat along with her every day. Inazuka in hopes of giving his daughter something healthy to eat decides to cook with her. Kotori then tells them since her mother has to go to TV Station for shooting a cooking show this eatery is on the verge of closing and since she is also alone all the time, so if someone is there with her to cook and eat the food then she will feel better right?
So they decided to cook food every day and eat, we get to see this pattern in the entire series over and over, throughout the span of 12 episodes. But along with that we also see Inazuka’s struggles on raising his daughter as he tries to be the best father and mother to his daughter. Also Tsumugi learns the joy of eating food with large group of people, for someone who has her dad as her only family, eating together with large group of people is really a joyful thing is what this Anime shows.
Raising kids alone is tough but this anime shows that you should try your best and try having fun while raising the kids. Because of which the kids will become supportive and will give you less trouble! When i look at this anime it reminds me of Usagi drop and Aishiteruze Baby Anime Series because it has same concept as these two anime series, “Man raising a kid alone concept.” On top of it this Anime delivers a delightful experience when you watch it, certainly its not the best Anime out there and of course so of the people may get bored with Anime or get annoyed with Tsumugi’s behavior.
Its not the Anime series that everyone can watch, everyone can like and everyone can love but for those who want to watch a heart soothing Anime, should definitely go for this Anime and its something that you can watch it with your family too.
Whatever i liked about this Anime i have given a brief description of it in the the above review but there is one thing which i didn’t mention purposely because i wanted to mention and explain it separately and that thing is the ending of this Anime series – Basically this show has an ending that doesn’t seem like an ending, but more so simple that life goes on as it always will.
Whenever a story has a good and proper and well planned ending, while it make us satisfied and happy but at the same time we feel empty somewhere inside our heart and this thing happens with me every time i finish a good Anime series. But this one made me smile, it feels like even if you add whatever story to it the characters of this Anime series will cope up with that story easily and will just create the next delicious meal and will not disappear completely, this is what i like seeing in Anime series.
There are not much things in the Anime that i dislike, its just that its Tsumugi’s hairstyle that feels annoying and i feel that it really doesn’t suit her. Some of you may like the fluffy hair style, Just how my sister liked it. But i on the other hand feels that, despite this Anime having a realistic concept, it would have been good that if the character design of Tsumugi must have been realistic as well.
The adult characters in the anime have realistic character design and even some of the kid characters from Tsumugi’s kindergarten have realistic character design but Tsumugi doesn’t have that because of that the things feel bit off. But overall it doesn’t affect the series and the delightful experience it delivers.
I be blunt, I liked this Anime, it certainly was heart soothing and i feel that i can watch it again and again! But i don’t think that this Anime will get another season because such kind of Anime rarely get another Anime adaptation. So for me i am gonna try reading the Manga from the start.
Why from the start? well i don’t have any special reason, its just that the recipes the showed in the Anime series, Manga has them written in detail and for someone like me who likes to cook the Manga will be ideal one to gather more information on Japanese cooking recipes.
Well but like me if you are interested in Japanese food and Japanese cooking you can read these two articles given below!
One more thing, we are getting similar anime series like this during fall 2016. Read more about in detail about Poco’s udon world here – Click here. Anyways do tell me your views about this Anime, did you like it? or did you dislike it?
