Naruto Shippuden 476-477 – We all have been waiting for this fight since 2 weeks, after all Naruto Shippuden went on a two week’s break according to the September’s schedule of Naruto Shippuden and the reason for that was they needed some more time to animate the episodes. Well they compensated for 2 weeks by giving us a one hour special episode!! and waiting for 2 weeks was definitely worthy because today we got absolutely beautifully animated one hour special episode.
In the last episode i.e Naruto Shippuden Episode 475, which was aired on September 09th 2016, we saw Sasuke’s goals, his ambition, his ideals and how messed up his logic is and now in this episode we see Naruto desperately stopping Sasuke from achieving that!
Naruto Shippuden 476-477 Review
This one hour special episode eventually showed us today how epic Naruto Shippuden would have been without all those fillers we got last year. Seeing this final fight of Naruto vs Sasuke i went back to the time when they fought seriously for the first time at the valley of end. As it was completely filled with nostalgic moments, they even brought the old emotional music back to remind us that we are going back to square one. They wanted us to remember the old Sasuke vs Naruto fight in order for us to enjoy this episode and boy they surely hit the mark.
I thought Studio Pierrot would fail us in this one hour special episode too! Because the episodes we have watched until now were underwhelming compared to Manga. Also not to forget, the fillers killed all the enthusiasm of the viewers. But after watching the episode I’ll have to admit – “Great job done by Studio Pierrot.”
They did well surpassing the Manga this time! Also the choreography of the hand to hand combats, Whether it was casual or normal hand to hand combat and Whether it was hand to hand combat in Susanoo and Kurama mode the choreography that studio did with the scenes was absolutely amazing. I also liked how they did not miss the small small details and the focus point of the fight scenes, like Sasuke forming the hand signs using Naruto’s hand while he was engaged into the hand to hand combat. Also how he did not gave chance to Naruto to form his hand sign for Kage Bushin Jutsu.
The similar thing was done with Naruto, they way he dodged and countered the attack was shown in absolute details. However it was made clear that Naruto was holding back because he was trying to save Sasuke, and Sasuke on the other hand was trying to kill Naruto that’s why he had upper hand on Naruto. Even though Naruto became serious at the end when Sasuke was about to through the Indra’s arrow but at the end he still holded back so that he won’t kill him.
Naruto was constantly holding back at the last moment while he was trying to fight Sasuke with his full strength. So his power was going at its maximum and coming down again and this cycle repeated the entire one hour fight. Only if Naruto could have fought with an intent to kill, then the battle could have gone either way. If Sasuke was not doping himself on the Bijuu chakra he would have went down. When the final attack was launched both of them fell down because of the shock wave the attack created.
Once again at the end we got our classic hand to hand combat which was awesome to watch, Once again Studio Pierrot made that combat in to an extremely detailed one. Like how Naruto countered Sasuke’s chidori with an upper cut and how his reaction was reflected in the head band. Then how they animated the final rasengan and how they showed everybody’s hands including Jiraya, Minato and Kushina’s hand making the final rasengan and showed Naruto and Sasuke’s final clash.
There were flashbacks in the episode but hey those flashbacks were totally acceptable, they eventually added more emotions to the episodes which were meant to make us cry. I’ll admit, that i became emotional during those flashbacks but it was not enough to make me cry. Also there were few original emotional scenes too which added more flavor to the emotional scenes which were already doing the job of making us cry and thanks to that little flavor the crying increased.
The Art and Animation
I wanted to write separately about the art and animation, today Studio Pierrot showed us what happens when they get serious with their job. The art animation of the episode was absolutely flawless!
Not the best but its best when compared to previously animated episodes of Naruto Shippuden. Great fight choreography no gimmicks just pure action based on the current abilities of Naruto and Sasuke.
I am honest here, i liked this episode. This was the best ever Naruto Shippuden episode I’ve ever watched ever since i wrapped up with the manga i was waiting for Studio Pierrot to animate this fight and i will admit waiting this long was one hell of a mental torture. But after watching the episode i think it was worth waiting, I’ll rate this episode five on five, i am completely satisfied.
So what do you think about this episode? Do you like it? or hate it? and what are your views on this episode. I would gladly like to hear them.
