Naruto Shippuden Episode 480 – Last week on Naruto Shippuden we saw the finale of Fourth great Ninja war and Final battle between Naruto and Sasuke. We were supposed to get a new series this week based on the light novels but at the last moment the schedule was changed and it was decided that instead of new series we will get character shorts based on individual characters in Naruto and they are related to the Night novel Naruto Shippuden anime which we will get to see this winter.
Naruto Shippuden Episode 480 – Review
This episode was more like a episode consisting of two short films or two short episode based on Naruto and Hinata pair. Which seems it was meant as an introductory video for the new Naruto Shippuden Anime series based on Light novels which is going to be released this winter.
So basically i wanted to say that there was nothing special about the episode. It was just a little back story on how Naruto and Hinata’s life was before they even met and which gave a solidified reason how it drastically changed.
Naruto Shippuden Episode 480 – Part Naruto
So the episode just like it was named (NARUTO.HINATA) starts with Naruto sitting on 4th Hokage’s monument. Starring at the sky. At that time people use to scorn him and rumor was flowing all over the village that Naruto was responsible for 4th Hokage’s death. People use to tell their kids not to play with Naruto, So basically Naruto use to spend all his time in the forest, training himself and gathering foods to eat. Surprising Naruto did not do any mischief during that time, he was a quite boy. We also get to see Sasuke observing Naruto.
During that time he met Third Hokage, although since Naruto used to spend most of the time in the forest alone, he did not know who was third hokage. Also third hokage didn’t tell him about him and they just started talking as friends. Third used to tell him stories and spend most of his free time with Naruto. He told him the world is big and we are insignificant in front of the world. Naruto was suffering through the loneliness and identity crises at that time but the words mentioned by third hokage changed him forever. Naruto started to believe in himself and from that time onward he became the energetic kid we all know.
Naruto Shippuden Episode 480 – Part Hinata
Hinata’s part describes about her life in Hyuga clan when she was kid, It shows Neji and Hinata were close siblings, However Neji at that time did not hate the main branch of the clan and he was more supportive to her. Hinata was termed as a little disappointment because she was weaker than Neji. She felt she would never become strong, but Neji vowed to make her stronger.
Rift grew between those two from the moment Neji’s father died, he stopped talking with her as he believed that main branch was responsible for his father’s death. Because of that he hated Hinata too, Hinata on the other hand was aware that this was going to happen, when she saw Neji at Neji’s father’s funeral.
So she ran away the atmosphere there for her was suffocating, She felt down on the middle of the road where Naruto met her. And then Naruto took her home. It was at that time she fell in love with him i guess.
After Narurto leaves, her father comes and scolds her – “You’re the main heir of the main family and what are you doing? for you and the main family many people from the branch family have made their ultimate sacrifice. You need to understand this thing.” And that’s where the episode ends.
Naruto Shippuden Episode 480 – Opinion
So as i said this episode was more like an episode with two short films or short episodes inside it. Hence felt that this was the shortest episode of Naruto shippuden i have ever watched. I felt that i was watching special episode and it didn’t felt like filler at all. The same thing is going to happen with the next episode which on Sasuke and Sakura. So basically we won’t get anything special next week and until this filler saga based on individual character ends.
I think there wasn’t any necessity to bring these character shorts and show the pairings to give the preview of how the things will move forward in the new series. Its nothing more than a waste of time, but still it gives us clear explanation about the lives of Hinata and Naruto before they met.
For me this episode was “OK” episode and felt like there should be more content. So what do you think of this episode? I will be glad to hear your views.
