Prince of Tennis gets Anime Movie set after original manga!

Prince of Tennis – The third and the final season of “TenniPuri Festa 2016  ~Kassen~” ended with an announcement on Sunday. That Prince of tennis new theatrical anime film project has been green lit.

Synopsis

Echizen Ryoma is a young tennis prodigy who has won 4 consecutive tennis championships but who constantly lies in the shadow of his father, a former pro tennis player. He joins the Seishun Gakuen junior highschool, one of the best tennis schools in Japan, and there along with his teamates he learns to find his own type of tennis in an attempt to defeat his biggest obstacle of all: his father as well as himself.

Takeshi Konomi the author of manga  personally made this announcement at the end of the event. Also he is serving as the executive producer on the new Anime film project. The film will feature original story which took place between the stories depicted in Prince of tennis manga and Prince of tennis  : Shin no Ouji Manga. Also its the story which was not there in any of the Prince of tennis manga.

Although the staff has still not announced the release date of the new anime film. However Takeshi Konami commented – “I think it’s going to be great. It will ‘double-cross’ your expectations (in a good way), so please look forward to it.”

Takeshi Konomi launched the manga in Shueisha’s weekly shounen jump magazine, which ran from 1998 to 2008. The manga also inspired television anime, which ran from 2001 to 2005. It got two anime films and a theatrical short film also a live action movie.

Konami also launched the Prince of Tennis : Shin no Ouji Manga in Jump Square magazine in 2009. Which also got television anime adaptation! Viz Media published the 42nd and final volume of Konomi’s original manga run in North America in 2011.
