Angel Beats Last Operation Manga Confirmed – Jun Maeda is writing it!!

Kadokawa announced that Angel beats is getting Manga adaptation, and, its serialization will begin on 30th August. The Manga is titled as Angel beats last operation and it seems, the original author Jun Maeda is writing the story of the Angel beats last operation Manga.

Further information revealed that this new manga will serve as the “true arc” of the light novel series, which will reveal the reason behind why “After life battlefront members” came into the world.

The manga is made to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the series. The scenario of the manga is based on the scenarios told in anime and games so far, however, Jun Maeda is completely re-configuring the story and making it original. To be more precise with the explanation – Its the same as the previous work “Angel beats – Heaven’s door”.

Asami who previously worked on “Angel beats – Heaven’s door” is drawing/illustrating the Angel beats last operation manga. The manga will be published and serialized in Dengeki’s G Comic Magazine.

What is Angel Beats?

Synopsis – Otonashi awakens only to learn he is dead. A rifle-toting girl named Yuri explains that they are in the afterlife, and Otonashi realizes the only thing he can remember about himself is his name. Yuri tells him that she leads the Shinda Sekai Sensen (Afterlife Battlefront) and wages war against a girl named Tenshi. Unable to believe Yuri’s claims that Tenshi is evil, Otonashi attempts to speak with her, but the encounter doesn’t go as he intended.

Otonashi decides to join the SSS and battle Tenshi, but he finds himself oddly drawn to her. While trying to regain his memories and understand Tenshi, he gradually unravels the mysteries of the afterlife.

Angel beats is Japan’s most popular Light novel franchise that it received anime adaption in 2010, three manga and even three drama CDs. It was even adapted in to a Visual novel that tells the franchise story.
