Boruto Naruto Next Generations Episode 14-15 – The best girl Sumire was the villain for the Academy arc, and in the previous review of Episode 13, we predicted multiple outcomes and one of them was “Everyone will accept her into her class”. And the episode was pretty much predictable till that point.
The unexpected part was, how this episode was used as a build up for the next upcoming arc which is the adaptation of Naruto Gaiden: The seventh Hokage & the scarlet spring manga. What even more surprising was how they foreshadowed Momoshiki and Kinshiki from Boruto: Naruto the Movie.
From this point onwards we are almost convinced that we’re going to get into Boruto: Naruto the Movie arc, and the series will follow the same pattern as Dragon Ball Super did with Resurrection of F. So let us get down with the review of Boruto Naruto Next Generations Episode 14-15.
Boruto Naruto Next Generations Episode 14-15
The Boruto anime is heading towards some canon arc, the story until now was just around developing relationships between characters, however now the story will focus on the individual characters and for now, the center of attraction is none other than Uchiha Sarada.
But before that, let’s talk about Boruto Naruto Next Generations Episode 14-15, which focuses on the finale of the Academy arc. So in the last episode i.e in Episode 13 we got to know that Sumire is the antagonist, which was pretty much predictable, but still, her background story put more depth towards her character & revealed some more secrets about her dark chakra which is also known as “Gozu Tennou”.
So in the last episode i.e in Episode 13 we got to know that Sumire is the antagonist, which was pretty much predictable, but still, her background story put more depth towards her character & revealed some more secrets about her dark chakra which is also known as “Gozu Tennou”.
This overall episode was pretty chilled however, we got some decent things to discuss upon.
1. Why the ghost chakra only gets attracted towards people who are filled with confusing emotions, guilt, and negativity?
At first, we thought that, since the chakra was negative and dark it exploits the negative emotions, guilt is hidden inside people.
However, in these two episodes, we almost got confirmation that the chakra that Gozu Tennou had was gathered from people and it was pure energy.
So, the nature of the chakra was not the answer, but the answer was the heart of the user itself.
Sumire was brainwashed by her father to take revenge on Konoha and she had no connection to it at all, but because she was brainwashed she had to do it.
All her childhood she was raised to be a skilled shinobi capable of doing her mission, so she was faking her emotions in front of everyone when she was acting friendly.
However, the bonds she created, the friends she made in the Academy, made her think what’s right and wrong and that created a confusion, this confusion made the chakra attack to the people who were filled with negativity.
2. How much did Danzou know? Gozu Tennou’s relation with Kaguya’s power!
Danzou Danzou Danzou… How much does he know? Danzou’s character was made to be an asshole character, but there are so much mysteries surrounding to that man!
While watching Naruto Shippuden I really felt that Danzou’s character, didn’t get the justice, I personally felt that Kishimoto didn’t explore his character that much.
And to everyone’s surprise, this character managed to do something that we viewers can’t even think of, well i guess this what happens when the original author of Naruto (Masashi Kishimoto) and the original author of Boruto (Ukyo Kodachi) both are working on the scripts of the Boruto anime series.
Yes they both are working as you can read the official statement here – Masashi Kishimoto’s work on Boruto Anime.
So coming back to the main topic.
Danzou managed to reach close to Kaguya’s power, with the help of one Jutsu that he and the “Root Anbu” came up with, and that’s Jutsu is none other than Gozu Tennou, which was entrusted to Sumire by her father.
This information was revealed in the final part of Episode 14, when Naruto met with Sasuke.
With that scene, it was confirmed that the story is heading towards Naruto Gaiden arc.
3. The return of Sasuke
Seeing Sasuke in Episode 15 was refreshing, and not everything was shown in this episode but his glimpse was more than enough to convince that things are going to get serious in Boruto anime series
4. Boruto shows some decent moves
Boruto Naruto Next Generations Episode 14-15, while the episode 15 was quite chilled. Episode 14 was action packed, well, not that much but at least we got to see some decent fight moves in the episode from Boruto. Mitsuki and Sumire were exceptions, as they were trained well.
But looking at Boruto taking the center stage in stopping Nue and bringing Sumire back to her senses with his father’s “talk no jutsu” was great and reminded me of good old Naruto anime. Although, the action didn’t last for long but at least watching the fight left some amount of satisfaction.
Boruto Naruto Next Generations Episode 14-15 managed to convince us that even though the anime series has just begun, things are starting to get quite serious.
However, I am still wondering, what Toneri’s role would be? Is he just going to stay there on the moon and watch over the situations on earth or he will play some major role in Boruto’s upbringing?
This is something that only time will unveil to us.
However, this doesn’t change the fact that the anime will take the time to level up the quality of the arcs.
Overall Episode Rating – 3.5/5
